Happiness for Norwegians: The Three basic principles

Source: "The Social Guidebook to Norway"

This morning a Norwegian friend posted a picture of himself

Alone

On the top of a mountain

In the middle of a snowfield

He was happy

Norwegian happy

Happiness is achieved in different ways in different cultures

Norwegians are happy when outdoors in difficult weather conditions

When they do not talk

The wind and rain making it impossible

It gives Norwegians a great feeling

A feeling of accomplishment

You will notice that Norwegians like to suffer physically

So that they can enjoy more afterwards and be happy

Norwegians’ relationship to nature is unique

What brings happiness to Norwegians is unique

Understanding the peculiarities of each culture you interact with

What makes the people of that culture happy

It will help you to better connect with them

And help you be more happy in this foreign environment

We hope that our Social Guidebooks to Norway will help you better understand what makes Norwegian happy!
